What Exactly Is Managing A Healthy Lifestyle?
January 24, 2019Strategy For Making Life-Changing Transition
February 13, 2019“Downsize the clutter. Get rid of bad habits, unhealthy relationships, or an unsatisfying job. Fantastic adventures, experiences, and freedom are just waiting to replace what no longer serves you.”
Let’s start with developing a goal that will bring more harmony and balance to your life. There are three grades assigned to goals—“C” Grade Goal, “B” Grade Goal, and “A” Grade Goal.
A “C” Grade Goal is a goal that you don’t consciously think about. This is the type of goal you know you can absolutely achieve and have done before. This type of goal is a pattern or habit that you perform all day long without even realizing it. All behavior is goal oriented, and this happens to be the one that goes along with your daily routine. This type of goal will not change your life in any significant way.
Maybe your daily routine is to get up in the morning, drink a cup of coffee, and read the morning paper. There really isn’t any conscious thought to it. You don’t think about it and just do it out of habit. Or perhaps every Monday morning you go to the club and play a few sets of tennis with your buddies. You automatically put on the appropriate clothing, grab your tennis, gear, and drive to the club without even thinking about it.
A “B” Grade Goal” is a goal that you think you can do but it’s not a great challenge. You haven’t done it before but it won’t make a major impact on your life if you achieve it. Let’s say that you are invited to attend a cocktail party to be held at the Breakers in Palm Beach, Florida. It will be held at the end of next month.
You have this amazing dress that is perfect. It has been sitting in your closet waiting for the right venue in which to wear it again. You put the dress on and it feels a bit snug—more than you would like. You want to wear the dress and you don’t want it wearing you—you want it to flow as you sashay into the room.
Before now, you haven’t ever needed to lose a few pounds but you know you can do it. Losing a few pounds will not make a major impact on your life although you will look amazing in that dress if you do.
An“A” Grade Goal is the goal you are interested in achieving. It is a goal that will change your life in some significant way. You haven’t achieved it before but you can see yourself being, doing, or having what you fantasize or dream about. You see it on the screen of your mind.
It is a goal that will make you feel uncomfortable while in process of achieving it because you will be pushing through limiting beliefs or boundaries that you haven’t experienced before. It will make you grow and move you to where you want to be instead of where you are presently. You may not know exactly how you will achieve it; because in the beginning more often than not, those seeking a life-changing goal don’t know how they will reach it. The main focus is on the end result; and if you are ready for it, ways and means will come into your path to achieve it.
So, where do you start? The easiest way to target an “A” Grade Goal is to complete the simple Wheel of Life exercise which will help to pinpoint an area that if worked on will bring more harmony and balance to your life. Go to my website: LivingAboveTheOrdinary.com and scroll down to the Wheel of Life, send your email address, and I will send three attachments—Directions to Completing the Exercise, the Wheel of Life, and the Rating Scale. After completing the exercise you will know where to begin. If you need help in deciding where to begin, send a pic of the completed wheel and I can help you pinpoint an area where to begin.
