Donna McGoff,

Life Transition Coach

I’m Donna McGoff. As a Life Coach, it’s my passion to help women who are “stuck” or “in pain” after the trauma of divorce. I developed a coaching process helping them to break up with the past by focusing on building a relationship with a new, purposeful life they would love living.

The secret is to become so focused on taking forward-moving action from right where they are so that as they achieve a goal one step at a time, the grip that the past has over them slowly slips away.

It was no accident that I chose to serve this specific group of amazing women. I am one of them. It had nothing to do with being an educator and counselor for over 30 years before retiring. I get it.

I was where you are and let me tell you why I get it as I walk you through my own experience.

MY LIFE STORY

It wasn’t just about having to sell the house and live a different lifestyle or dealing with financial matters that I didn’t experience before. I was over 50 and divorced. I tried everything to get control back over my life so that I could pick up the pieces and rebuild it.

For many years, I was “stuck” and ‘in pain” and couldn’t figure out how to get out of this vicious cycle.

I was waiting for something to happen or someone to come into my life that would release me from the mental bars that I had up all around me. But guess what, nothing happened.

I enrolled in different programs, joined online forums and groups, had supportive family and friends, and read every self-help book I could get my hands on. I even tried counseling as I was a counselor for many years but that was more digging around in the past—which I wanted to move away from.

That is one of the reasons why I moved from counseling to coaching. Coaching is forward moving. Like myself, I wanted to help others from where they are presently, and move them to where they envision themselves to be in the future.  Staying stuck in the past takes away from the potential for the future.

One day a lightbulb went off in my head. I realized I had been looking for answers outside of myself when the mindset and transformation had to begin within me.

HOW I STARTED WITH CHANGING MY LIFE?

I decided with my own personal experience, background, expertise, and a bit of research, I created my own PLAN. That was how the Five Step Results-Driven Process was created—step by step one building on the next taking me from the transition through divorce to my personal transformation moving me forward to create my new life on my own terms. Guess what? I never looked back.

I started coaching other divorced women just like me, and they have had a lot of success. So, I decided to specialize in only that.

I am in the process of designing an online course of my results-driven process so that I can reach more women and empower them to embrace a new beginning.

I am an author, speaker, and inventor of children’s counseling board games. I have been a college instructor, English teacher, and counselor before I retired. I have a Master’s of Science in Human Development, Counseling and Family Studies.

I am fascinated with the working of the mind. My favorite book of all time is Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. I’m an avid tennis player, love to bike and read—and much more.

I am passionate about helping other women, like myself, who have struggled for a long time with moving forward. Not just existing in life and doing all that needs to get done but creating your life on your own terms. The Time Is Now.
